Kent Johnson launched Riverglenn Advisors in 2019 to help not-for-profit organizations maximize their impact.  His work focuses on strategic planning, leadership development, executive coaching and operational management issues. Prior to initiating his private consulting practice, Kent served for over a decade as the second highest ranking staff leader for YMCA of the USA, the national office for the network’s 2,700 local branches.  As Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, he was responsible for the delivery of services to local YMCAs including strategic planning, management consulting, leadership development, CEO search, diversity and inclusion, public policy and global initiatives.  Before his work at the national level, Kent spent 25 years in the field holding a variety of positions from camp counselor to CEO.

Kent was profiled in Perspective magazine’s “Unforgettable YMCA Professionals” and has been honored by his alma mater as a “Distinguished Alumnus” and a member of the Hall of Fame for his professional contributions to the field.

Kent and Chris, his wife of 38 years, moved to South Carolina in 2019 after completing a long-planned home in the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains. Dubbed “Camp Runamuck”, they intend to spoil their grandchildren there for many years to come.
